Please replace the page now in your document with <br />this page. <br />Item 3: Household Hazardous Waste Storage - The County has requested that the <br />operator provide a chemical storage locker, which the operator has agreed to provide in <br />the maintenance building. We have revised Page 52 to reflect this addition. Due to the <br />arrangement of the pages, we have reprinted pages 52 through 57. Please replace the <br />pages now in your document with these pages. <br />Item 4: Drainage Berms. The Site Development Plan drawing (Sheet 2 of 7 <br />Appendix Q shows 15 -foot wide berms, rather than benches. Berms were proposed as <br />an engineered alternative to benches in the Preliminary Closure and Postelosure <br />Maintenance Plan submitted and approved in 1994. This alternative accomplishes the <br />objective of the benches (interrupting the flow of water on the surface of the landfill with <br />a minimum 50 -ft elevation difference). In addition, berms would be more effective than <br />benches in directing water to drainage facilities due to the relatively shallow slope (6%) <br />on the surface of the landfill. It is my understanding that the berms may be retained due <br />
