At each landfill, Kleinfelder's assessment <br />is that the likely foreseeable scenario requiring corrective action is impact to groundwater by landfill gas. <br />Therefore, the proposed remediation scenarios, for the purpose of financial assurance, are implementation of <br />additional landfill gas control. <br />This information will be submitted to the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) along with <br />our proposed method to demonstrate financial assurance. In the past, CIWMB staff has required a letter from <br />Regional Water Quality Control Board staff stating whether estimated costs appear reasonable. Please review <br />the enclosed estimates, and if you find them reasonable, we would greatly appreciate a letter stating this for our <br />transmittal to the CIWMB.
