Since most Regional Boards are <br />facing this problem and the DHS is advocating 100 ppb, 1 felt I should seek <br />your assistance. <br />In many cases, best available treatment `Echnoloay, required to remove other <br />substances, may reduce aloroform to such low levels that the matter is <br />probably no. of concern. However, we have two major cases now where extensive <br />quantities of around v.,ater are contaminated by chloroform. (in excess o� 0.19 <br />ppb) and all other substances are less than the 10-6 cancer risk.
