STATE OF CALIFORNIA GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN, Governor
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD—
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3443 ROUTIER ROAD
SACRAMENTO, CA 95827-3098
11 December 1989
Lieutenant Colonel
Director, Office of
Defense Depot Tracy
Tracy, California
izr
Eddie D. The proposed design of the wells,
specifically the isolation of the Upper Tulare Formation, appears
sufficient to ensure good quality water from these wells. The
location of the wells do not appear to be within or proximal to
known contamination areas, however, we suggest that the wells be
located, if at all possible, at the maximal distance from known
contamination areas. If this is not possible, we believe that
the proposed locations give a reasonable assurance that ground
water extractions from these wells will not significantly alter
contaminant plume migration patterns in the Upper Tulare
Formation.
If you would like to discuss these comments please contact John
Tomko at (916) 361-5661.
Anton K.J.
