VOCs in the unsaturated zone is considered a
WDRs violation other than listed above release from the Unit pursuant to Title 27 CCR. LW-1 is a supply well,
not a point of compliance well. The report should mention this important note.
Comment 2.k.=Appendix H includes data sheets for soil-pore gas probes SG-1 through SG-11. Data show
impacts to the unsaturated zone with landfill gas in the form of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The
report does not include an evaluation of the data nor how the releases comply with WDRs or Title 27. This
is a violation of WDRs as described in the transmittal letter for this checklist.
Sampling and Analysis Plan: Please include the fate of the purged water from each well (i.e., disposal) in
cases where the water is presumed clean and when it has been found to contain constituents above
background and/or determined to be polluted.
