Box 1810 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> REVIEW OF FIRST SEMESTER 2008 GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER <br /> MONITORING REPORT, FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board) staff <br /> has reviewed the 1St Semester 2008 Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Report for <br /> the Foothill Sanitary Landfill. The report was prepared in accordance with the Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program No. R5-2003-0020. <br /> No volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were detected in groundwater collected from wells <br /> MW-1 through MW-5. However, one organophosphate pesticide (Guthion) was reported in <br /> well MW-5, which is the second detection of a pesticide reported in well MW-5 since the 1St <br /> quarter 2008 when fensulfothion was found. Since well MW-5 is located at the southwestern <br /> property boundary of the landfill, it is likely these detections are not a result of landfill activities. <br /> The Discharger will continue to analyze groundwater samples for these constituents. Surface <br /> water samples were not collected during the 1St semester monitoring event. <br /> Please review the attached Monitoring and Reporting Checklist.
