Fisher Geotechnical
Civil and Geotechnical Engineering
August 4, 2011
Project 3310
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202-3029
RE: Geotechnical Soil Boring Permit Application
or Plan Description
Landfill Gas to Energy Facility
Foothill Landfill
6484 N. Waverly
Linden, California
WORK PLAN FOR SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION
PROPOSED LANDFILL GAS TO ENERGY FACILITY
FOOTHILL LANDFILL
OVERVIEW
The work will consist of a geotechnical test borings drilled for the purpose of foundation
design for a landfill gas to energy facility that is proposed at the Foothill Landfill. The
facility will consist of a large concrete pad supporting equipment, including blowers,
dehydrators, transformers, generators, compressors, coolers, turbines, and flare structure.
A small office structure will be included on the pad.
LOCATION OF WORK
The location of the work is in the northeast comer of the landfill property as shown on the
attached conceptual site plan, Sheet 1. The subject work site is within a larger area that is
currently undeveloped and is 300 feet east of the nearest point of the landfill. The subject
work site is on parcel 201-060-02 and is not currently permitted as landfill. The work
will be within a 150 by 100 foot area adjacent to the property lines at the southeast comer
of the parcel and landfill property.
SITE HISTORY
Based ono review of current aerial photos and aerial photos dating back to 1993, the
site was undisturbed prior to July 2003 and appears to have disturbance of surface soils
by grading as of August 2005. It is presumed that the only prior use of the site was for
grazing. Current surface conditions appear to include small fill mounds that are
associated with the excavation of a borrow area immediately west. Based on review of
boring logs for test borings drilled by others in 1985 and 1990,there is no mention of
Google Earth,2010,Google,Inc.
345 Alameda â–ºvenue Haff Moon Bay,California 94019 (650)726-4671
(925)946-0836
