inorganic constituent exceeds its concentration limit in one or both verification samples,
an evaluation monitoring plan will be proposed.
4.3 Monitoring Points
4.3.1 Groundwater
The groundwater well network for both units consists of up gradient well MW-4 and
down gradient wells MW-2R, MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6. Well MW-IA, which had
previously been considered up gradient, was found to be cross gradient from the landfill,
and not down gradient of any portion of the landfill.
LF-1's corrective action monitoring points consist of the following:
• Up gradient well MW-4
• Down gradient wells MW-3, MW-5, and MW-6
• Cross gradient well MW-lA
LF-2's detection monitoring points consist of the following:
• Up gradient well MW-4
• Down gradient wells MW-2R, MW-5 and MW-6
4.3.2 Surface Water
Surface water sampling points are SW-1 and SW-2 for both LF-1 and LF-2. SW-1 is the
upstream sampling point.
4.3.3 Vadose Zone
The vadose zone monitoring network consists of lysimeters LZ-1, LZ-2, LZ-3, LZ-4, LZ-
5, and pan lysimeters under LF-2. LZ-1 is the background vadose zone lysimeter. A
vadose zone gas monitoring network also consists of 25 tri-level perimeter soil gas
probes SG-12 and SG-102 through SG-125.
In addition, LF-1 is monitored with soil gas probes SG-1, SG-2A, SG-3A, SG-4, SG-5,
SG-6A, SG-7, SG-9, SG-10A, and SG-11A situated around the perimeter of LF-1. The
locations designated with an "A" are tri-level monitoring probes.
Foothill WQPS Rev Ldoc
4-6
