However, according to the"Hazardous <br /> Material Management"poster,demi-permanent hair color is listed under corrosive bases. <br /> All of the items listed above were identified as waste by Janielle Bauer. <br /> Hazardous waste container storage and transfer areas shall be inspected weekly for leaking containers and for <br /> deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by corrosion and other factors. Immediately begin <br /> conducting the necessary weekly inspections for all hazardous waste containers at this facility. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> The following was observed at the facility's hazardous waste(HW)storage area: <br /> -Three out of the five hazardous waste(HW)totes that were observed did not have the name of the facility <br /> generator on the HW label (see IMG 2118, 2131, and 2151). Janielle Bauer, the Store Manager, stated she was not <br /> aware that the name of the facility/store was required on a hazardous waste label. <br /> -Although all five of the HW tote labels that were observed listed the words"solid"and "liquid"for the physical state, <br /> the labels were not marked to indicate whether the current contents in the totes were either solids, liquids, or both <br /> (IMG 2118, 2120, 2130, 2131, and 2151). <br /> -Although all five of the HW tote labels listed various items for each category of HW,the labels were not marked to <br /> indicate the current contents in each tote and there were several items in the HW totes that were not listed as <br /> contents on the labels(IMG 2118, 2120, 2130, 2131, and 2151). <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words"Hazardous Waste" <br /> -name and address of generator <br /> -hazardous properties <br /> -physical state <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> NOTES: <br /> -According to Janielle, the store has been in operation for 15-20 years, and before the hazardous waste <br /> program started in 2015, the district manager would review items that had been segregated and would throw <br /> defective items away into the trash if they could not be returned to the warehouse.
