As a company dedicated to improving the lives of those we serve through innovative and
high - quality health and pharmacy services , CVS Pharmacy ( CVS ) understands the need for
a healthy environment , and is committed to fostering a culture of environmental
responsibility within our company .
Waste materials that could potentially be harmful may be generated at our stores in the
ordinary course of our business . In order to protect the environment , Federal ( US
Environmental Protection Agency) and State regulations have been developed that restrict
retailers from disposing of certain items on their premises (e . g . in the trashldumpster or
down the drain ) .
The CVS Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Management Program is designed to provide a
mechanism for the proper identification and disposal of waste materials , particularly those
that may be hazardous when disposed . This program overview is included as part of the
overall Environmental , Health & Safety ( EH & S) Program Binder and is designed to
supplement the environmental training materials provided on LEARNet .
