Received information from certified lab. Completed PE 2304 SC 034 Tank Removal letter. 12/08/2016 2:15 pm - 4:45 pm. Witnessed tank removal and soil sampling. 150 min Contamination was observed between six feet (immediately below the tank) down to 9 feet 9 inches. The excavation soil sample was taken at 9 feet 9 inches. The current excavation is a box 6 x 6 feet wide and long and eight feet deep. Approximately one foot of loose soil with visible contamination still needs to be removed. At a later date, after receiving the lab results, the contractor will remove the loose soil to a minimum of 9 feet 9 inches depth, the location of the under tank sample. There are two stockpiles. One pile was clean soil from above the tank. The second pile was visibly contaminated and had petroleum odor. The second pile was contained within plastic (top and bottom). Both stockpiles and the bottom of the excavation were sampled. The contractor will call me to witness further excavation to remove the remaining contaminated soil. 12/09/2016 Completed inspection documentation and printed the inspection photos. 30 min SR0076279 PE 2304 SC 134 SR0076279 PE 2304 SC 034 Recorded by ZAREEF ZAREEF ZAREEF BACKUS BACKUS 01/18/2017 Discussed project with Terry Hamilton. He is having the lab send over the SR0076279 BACKUS 18 min test results and will schedule the over excavation and confirmation sample PE 2304 SC 034 inspection with the EHD. I asked him to do another confirmation sample after the over excavation since the area has received a lot of rain. I told Terry that I'll need to see the end of the over excavation and the confirmation sample. 01/27/2017 Facility LEA code changed to 53. UST removed - closure incomplete. PR0541462 BACKUS 18 min Tank LEA code changed to 9, tank removed. UST Billing status changed to PE 2361 SC 072 inactive, non -billable. 03/16/2017 Witnessed over excavation of 10 cubic yards of soil from the tank pit. This SR0076279 BACKUS 120 min soil will be taken to Forward Landfill. One confirmation sample was taken at PE 2304 SC 134 10 feet below grade. Sample number T-1-10. No odor or discoloration observed.
