U-84-64 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------- <br />RECOMMENDATION: Take no action as the applicant is in confor- <br />mance with approved Use Permit No. U-84-64. <br />BACKGROUND: This matter was continued from the Board of Zoning <br />Adjustment hearing of June 14, 1984, to the normally scheduled <br />hearing of August 9, 1984. Since that date, the Board of Zoning <br />Adjustment was abolished, and the August 9 meeting was cancelled. <br />This matter is being referred to the Planning Commission for your <br />review. <br />On July 14, 1983, the Board of Zoning Adjustment considered a <br />request by Mr. Thomas M. McAthie to set for public hearing an <br />alleged nuisance resulting from the operation of an existing golf <br />course driving range at the Eklhorn Golf a Country Club in North <br />Stockton. Specifically, the problem was golf balls driven from <br />the range and creating a hazard to several neighboring <br />residences. <br />The Board determined that a nuisance did exist and, after holding <br />several public hearings, imposed Use Permit No. U-84-64 on <br />January 12, 1984, subject to the following supplemental <br />conditions: <br />(6) The driving range shall be limited to the use of irons only. <br />(7) The driving range shall be from the west to east direction <br />only. <br />(8) This permit is to be reviewed by the Board of Zoning <br />Adjustment in three months (April 12, 1984). <br />The matter was continued from April 12, 1984, to the hearing of <br />June 14, 1984, as there had been no complaints from the neigh- <br />bors, and onsite inspections revealed the problems had apparently <br />been corrected for the most part.
