The SSNL supports the suitability for standard OWTS usage and a standard OWTS may be installed
for the proposed development pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-
1105.2(d).
Note: A standard septic system for this project requires a minimum tank capacity of 6,750 gallons &
5, 220 square feet area for the filter bed.
b. Alternatively, the OWTS may be installed according to the engineered/alternative OWTS plans and
recommendations found in this study. If the owner chooses the engineered/alternative OWTS design:
obtain a Commercial Alternative/Engineered Designed System Permit and install the OWTS based on
the designs and recommendations of the engineer. The OWTS must pass inspection before final
approval of the OWTS permit.
c. Audible and visual alarms are required if a lift station is installed. Testing of the audible and visual
alarm are required before final approval of the OWTS permit (SJC OWTS 10.5).
d. Open, pump, and backfill any septic tank to be abandoned on the site under permit and inspection by
the Environmental Health Department (San Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-1110.3 & 9-
1110.4).
If you have any questions please contact Aaron Gooderham, Registered Environmental Health Specialist,
REHS, at agooderham@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3062.
tevenHS
Program Coordinator
CC: Chesney Consulting
P.O.
