Soil Suitability/ Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
Munsch Property ■ Lodi, California
January 7, 2022 ■ Terracon Project No. NA217092
Terracon reviewed the USDA NRCS Web Soil Survey and USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin
County (1992) for information regarding Jacktone clay (Section 1.5). Selected physical and
chemical properties for the soil types are listed in the following table.
Table 7.
Physical and Chemical Properties*
Soil Name
Depth
USDA
Unified Soil
Clay
Permeability
Soil
Salinity
Septic tank
/ Map
('n)
Texture
Classification
a
(/o)
(in/hour)
reaction
(mmhos/cm)
absorption
Symbol
y
(pH)
fields
Fine sandy
0-19
SM
10-15
2.0-6.0
6.1-7.8
<2
loam
Fine sandy
19-45
loam, sandy
SM
10-18
2.0-6.0
6.1-7.8
<2
Tokay
Loam
(256)
Fine sandy
Slight
loam, sandy
45-60
loam,
SM
8-15
2.0-6.0
6.1-8.4
<2
coarse
sandy loam
-u.b. uepartment of Agriculture, boil conservation Service, 1992, boil Survey of ban Joaquin County, Calitornia.
Selected USDA physical and chemical properties
millimhos per centimeter (mmhos/cm)
2.1.2 Mass Transport Soil Properties
The longer the effluent remains near the surface, the more treatment is enhanced due to natural
processes within the soil. The percolation tests have revealed that the onsite soils have moderate
percolation rates at 3 feet bgs, a slower percolation rate at 3.5 feet bgs and a faster percolation
rate at 8.0 feet bgs. Refer to Sections 1.6.6 and 1.6.7 for additional discussion.
2.2 Groundwater Analysis
2.2.1 Regional Groundwater
A discussion of regional groundwater, including depth to groundwater and seasonal trends are
included in Section 1.4.1.
2.2.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
A discussion of issues related to potential groundwater contamination is included in Section 1.4.2.
2.2.3 Current and Future On -Site Ground Water Uses
The proposed residences will be connected to a proposed onsite groundwater supply well.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 13
