Abated By: M SMAUTA

Activity Summary
Activity Date Recorded by
07/20/2021 Received call regarding complaint of muddy brown water. The complainant stated SAHOTA
the water has been brown for a few days, but no other issues noted. I explained
the treatment system and possible issues with the water table or pressure, and
stated I would follow up with them once I gathered more information.
07/22/2021 Reached out to Angelina (Quality Service) to see if there is any information on the SAHOTA
treatment system for the complaint. I reviewed the monitoring results, and recent
monthly treatment report.
07/26/2021 Angelina (Quality Service) stated the system is still bypassing treatment and
reviewing an estimate for the media. She stated Kris at the site is not aware of the
issue and he is reviewing the estimate. I let her know I would double check and
get back to her with anything we may need at this point in time.
08/13/2021 Follow up on permit for water system, and reviewed iron and manganese data in
July monthly treatment report (submitted August 10th). Iron exceeded the
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) in the distribution system, although post
filtration results were slightly below the MCL. Manganese exceeded the MCL in all
sample points. Assessed public notification templates for the notice that is
appropriate for this situation. Sent direction to Quality Service to post a mixture of
the "Chemical MCL Exceedance" and "Do Not Drink" notices. I also informed
them that the notice would need to be posted in a conspicuous place and
distributed to any residents, when approved. I sent a reminder of the permit
condition that requires the treatment system to be removed or placed with a
working treatment system if iron or manganese exceeds the maximum level by
three times. Since the report stated new media is in process, I stated we would
need an estimated timeline on when the media exchange would be completed. I
let them know the notification would have to remain in place until media exchange
is complete, and field test results indicate iron and manganese are below the
MCL. Angelina (Quality Service) stated she would work with Alan and Joe to put
together a notice on Monday.
SAHOTA
SAHOTA
08/19/2021 Alan (Quality Service) provided public notification and proof of notification copies. SAHOTA
He stated he would check back in regarding the new media when he had new
information.
5105. rpt Page 1 of 2
