Scotts Avenue
Stockton, CA. 95205
Attention: Bill Arbogast
An inspection was made of the Eagle Park and Lathrop treatment
plant aeration basins, on April 12, 1988, by James R. Miller,
Senior Registered Sanitarian, of my staff.
Eagle Park Treatment Plant basin has a wet sludge in the bottom
approximately 12 inches deep with the side walls ranging from
one to four inches . The Health District recommends that this
sludge be removed to a Class III landfill. It is our under-
standing that both Harney Lane and Foothill Landfill will
accept this material providing the moisture content is below
50 percent.
Lathrop Treatment Plant basins have a dry sludge in the bottom
approximately 12 inches deep with the side walls ranging from
one to four inches in depth. The Health District recommends
that this sludge either be removed to a Class III landfill or
the material be spread thin, maximum depth one inch, over the
five acres utilized by the plant and covered with fill material.
The Health District must be called prior to covering with the
fill material so verification can be made of the depth of the
spread dry sludge.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact
Mr. Miller at ( 209 ) 468-3436 .
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
District HP41th Officer
/iinU\/
I. oti, Director
Environmental Health Division
RV/FK:ss
