PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
SSS§ 6.2. The aforementioned percolation test borings were completed in the location depicted on
the attached Site Plan to assess the permeability of the disposal area soils.
SSS§ 6.3. After drilling the shallow test boring, the sidewalls were scored with a pry-bar to open
potentially smeared sidewalls. The deep 8 ft boring was not scored due to the soil structure. Two
inches of fine gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch dia. perforated PVC pipe was inserted
in each test boring. After drilling, the test borings were pre-saturated with 12 inches of water, 24 hrs
prior to the start of testing. Maximum soil saturation conditions were achieved to determine the
saturated permeability of the two different soil structures encountered.
SSS§ 6.4, 6.5. On October 11, 2019, percolation testing commenced at 0730 hrs. No standing
water was observed after the 24-hr soak period in either boring. Consequently, EHD Perc Test
Procedure #2 was conducted whereby testing was done over a four-hour period with readings taken
every 30 minutes.
A summary of the perc test results with corresponding application rates in gallons of effluent
accepted per square foot of soil per day are illustrated in Table 2. The corresponding application rate
was obtained from Page 24 of the OWTS Policy - Water Quality Control Policy for Siting. Design,
Operation, and Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems.
TABLE 2
3
Chesney Consulting
