The assembly hall daily visitors and special events is calculated to be 2.9 mg/L-N over
the long term for a combined total of 9.6 mg/L-N below the MCL of 10 mg/L-N. The proposed 12
bedroom dormitory is anticipated to further increase nitrate levels by an additional 11.8 mg/L-N
for a total of 21.4 mg/L-N above the MCL.
As a worst case scenario, the existing 5 bedroom residence and proposed 12 bedroom dormitory
have a potential to add 10.5 mg/L-N and 16.9 mg/L-N respectively when two people are calculated
per bedroom and both residences are occupied. Therefore, the site has the potential to increase
nitrate levels as high as 33.3 mg/L-N.
2.3.6 Impact of Nitrate Loading to Nearby Water Sources
Since the subject property is relatively flat, we do not foresee percolating effluent affecting surface
water sources.
Responsive • Resourceful • Reliable 19
