Backus, Garrett [EHD]
From: Backus, Garrett [EHD]
Sent: Thursday, March 3, 2022 10:51 AM
To: Guy Graening; dhara.trivedi@spx.com
Cc: Torbitt, Alison;Jess Hinchliffe
Subject: RE: SPX - Stockton site - inspection reports
Attachments: T22 CCR 66262.34.pdf, Compliance Report 3-3-22.pdf; Compliance Report RTC form
3-3-22.pdf
Hi Guy and Dhara,
I have reviewed the paperwork received 2-25-22 from Guy and closed all of the violations except for hazardous waste
violations 102 and 502. Please also see the attached compliance review report dated 3-3-22 and send me a response
within 30 days regarding violation 3010.
The site is being regulated as a large quantity (LQG) hazardous waste (HW) generator since the 120 tons of hazardous
waste (four bins labeled as HW) was onsite during the inspection and the HW manifest records were as follows: 30 tons
in 2022 so far, 14 tons in 2020 and 72 tons in 2019. A LQG generates 1000 kg of HW per month. Also, a SQG cannot
store more than 6000 kg at any one time. I've attached the section T22 CCR 66262.34 that discusses SQG vs LQG.
Generator status can change from month to month but a facility must be in compliance with the LQG requirements
during the LQG months. Over the past three years during several months the site has been and currently is a LQG.
Sincerely,
Garrett Backus, Ld.
