OBSERVATION: The following empty tanks located outside of the north wall of the truck shop on the storage rack, that previously held petroleum products were observed without the words"permanently closed"with an date of closure: Four cylindrical tanks One diesel saddle tank Two square tanks. REGULATION GUIDANCE: When a tank is not in use, it must be permanently closed by meeting the following conditions: -remove all liquid and sludge from each container and connecting line -disconnect and blank off all connecting lines and piping have from the tank/container -close and lock all valves -post a sign conspicuously stating that it is a permanently closed container and denoting the date of closure. CORRECTIVE ACTION: Tanks that are not being used or are not addressed in the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure(SPCC)Plan must either be included in your plan or meet the permanent closure requirements noted above. Provide verification to the EHD of proper closure of the tanks. This is a minor violation.
