G 5� 13S T.Ijv <br /> Fact Sheet Consolidated Manifesting <br /> December 2001 <br /> Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements r o <br /> Introduction <br /> The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has developed this fact sheet to <br /> provide hazardous waste transporters with information regarding changes made by <br /> Senate Bill 271 (SB 271 ), which replaces milkrun operations and modified manifesting with <br /> It is DTSC's consolidated manifesting. The provisions of SB 271 take effect January 1 , 2002 . <br /> mission to restore, i <br /> protect and enhance SB 271 merges existing modified manifesting statutes [Health and Safety Code (HSC), <br /> the ejp,Lv a nment, Section 25250 . 8] and milkrun regulations [Title 22, California Code of Regulations <br /> to erasure (22 CCR), Section 66263 .42] into a new section of the Hazardous Waste Control Law <br /> public health, (HSC, Section 25160 .2), and renames the procedure " consolidated manifesting" . <br /> en.uirontnesrta Consolidated manifesting, formerly known as modified manifesting or milkrunning, allows <br /> grsallty and certain registered hazardous waste transporters to combine specified wastes from multiple <br /> economic Vitali eligible generators on a single manifest, rather than using a separate manifest from each <br /> by regulating? generator. The generators using the consolidated manifesting procedure are exempt from <br /> hazardousmaste, filling out a hazardous waste manifest. The consolidated transporter completes both the <br /> condttitingArad generator and the transporter section of the manifest.
