6 6 Pagel of 3
Alfonso Arambula [EH]
From: Alfonso Arambula [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, June 07, 2011 1:38 PM
To: 'Dabney, Alison (CDPH-DDWEM)'
Cc: Robert McClellon [EH]; Benjamin Escotto [EH]
Subject: RE: Reusable sharps container
Hello Alison,
I am appreciative of your time and input on this matter. The cheat sheet provided is very helpful. I have seen
many hospitals with similar cheat sheets posted near medical waste containers and in most interim storage areas.
Thanks Again,
Alfonso Arambula
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 E. Main Street. I
would not require a label on the top of the either container, since it is a sharps container.
Many of the staff I have interviewed at facilities don't know the destination of the waste. They
say, I thought all waste was incinerated, so an "incineration Only" label won't help many that
haven't been trained properly on segregation. I have attached a cheat sheet we give to the
generators. We are heavy on the education portion.
Alison
From: Newton, Ingrid [mailto:INewton@STERICYCLE.com]
Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2011 11:04 AM
6/8/2011
