FACILITY EMPLOYEES CLEANED UP THE SPILL BY APPLYING ABSORBENT AND PLACING
ABSORBENT IN ON-SITE DRUM. NO STORM DRAINS WERE IMPACTED.
OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS
NOTES
The EHD was notified of this spill on 7/8/2021. The following information was provided by Tim Babcock of Broadbent: The
diesel spill occurred on 7/5/2021. A truck had a hole in its saddle tank, and before a facility employee could get to the diesel
island to begin cleaning up the spill, the truck driver had left the site. No storm drains were impacted. The facility applied
absorbent to the spill and placed the absorbent into one of the facility's on-site hazardous waste drums. Ancon Services
pressure washed the ground, except for the diesel island, on 7/5/2021, and allowed the rinseate to go into the facility's
oil-water separator. Ancon pressure washed the diesel island on 7/8/2021 and the rinseate was placed in a hazardous waste
drum, left on-site, and will be disposed of as non-RCRA hazardous waste.
Please be advised that the disposal of any waste [HSC 5411] or disposal of any hazardous waste, or the causing thereof, is
prohibited when the disposal is at a facility which is not permitted or authorized for hazardous waste disposal. [HSC 25189.5
(a).]. Please be aware that all hazardous waste shall be disposed of under appropriate hazardous waste manifesting
procedure [HSC 25160 (b)(3)].
Provide all hazardous waste determinations, sample analytical results, and waste/hazardous waste disposal records to the
EHD for all clean up debris associated with this clean up.
The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and
Safety Code. If a reinspection is required, fees will be assessed at the current hourly rate.
Received by: Name and Title: Emailed to Tim Babcock, Broadbent Sr. Scientist
EH Specialist: ELIANNA FLORIDO Phone: (209) 616-3050
CO2ZWAE81 SC544 07/12/2021
EHD 25-01 Rev. 01/07/2021 Page 1 of 1 Complaint Inspection Report
1868 E.
