Telephone: (209) 983-8285 <br />Program Element: 2546- RELEASE/SPILL RESPONSE (EXCLUDING JOINT TEAM) Complaint #: COKQAKOX2 <br />Responsible Party Contact: TJ SHAY <br />DESCRIPTION OF COMPLAINT ALLEGATIONS <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department received the following complaint: <br />Five gallons of hydrogen peroxide was released impacting trailer floor and concrete pad. <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />NOTES <br />Met with John Soria of Ancon at the site location. According to John, 5 gallons of hydrogen peroxide was released from a 5 <br />gallon bucket and impacted a wooden pallet, the trailer floor, and concrete pad (parking area). Per the spill report, the release <br />was caused by improper blocking and bracing of the freight. Per John, absorbent was applied to the impacted trailer floor and <br />concrete pad and then neutralized with sodium bicarbonate. Three 55 gallon poly drums of hazardous waste was generated. <br />One 55 gallon poly drum was for the impacted wooden pallet. The second 55 gallon poly drum was for the used absorbent. <br />The third 55 gallon poly drum was for the rags. The waste will be left on site and disposed as hazardous waste at a later time. <br />Clean-up is complete. <br />Please be advised that the disposal of any waste [HSC 5411] or disposal of any hazardous waste, or the causing thereof, is <br />prohibited when the disposal is at a facility that is not permitted or authorized for hazardoudous waste disposal. [HSC <br />25189.5(a).]. Please be aware that all hazardous waste shall be disposed of under appropriate hazardous waste manifesting <br />procedure [HSC 25160 (b)(3)]. Provide hazardous waste disposal records for impacted material to the EHD. <br />The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and <br />Safety Code.
