Simplot Company hereby requests a 90-day extension for
temporary waste accumulation at its Lathrop facility. Section 66262.35(a)(1)
requires the generator to provide the following information:
Section 66262.35(x)(1)
In late 2021, Simplot replaced the sulfuric acid plant furnace at the facility.
Replacement of that furnace included removal of refractory brick, which is a non-
RCRA hazardous waste. The non-RCRA hazardous waste was placed into nine
(9), lined, 20-yard roll-off bins from October 19 to November 5, 2021.
Since the removal date of the brick, Simplot has experienced numerous delays in
selecting a waste vendor and there were delays associated with several
analytical requirements for the waste profile. As a result, all nine bins were
stored over the 90-day accumulation time limit. The requested extension would
allow Simplot to resolve the remaining challenges with the waste vendor and
analytical profile. These roll-off bins will be picked up from the Lathrop facility no
later than April 17, 2022 for disposal at a permitted off-site facility.
As detailed below, Simplot meets all requirements for sone-time 90-day
accumulation extension:
Section 66262.35(a)(1)(A)La - A certification signed by the generator
certifying that the a/igibi/ity requirements and the conditions for the
extension are met.
?i+i+•'+y+s+i+=h`+•.c+.+i+_'.+_.+`+_'.i+i+i+iy+t+i+i+a+-tiii+i+i.i+i+++'+i+.+_.`ti+s++i+i
