KLEINFELDER
File No. 20-3644-01
July 29, 1993
Mr. Emile Atwood
9025 West Lane
Stockton, CA 95210
Subject: PERCOLATION TESTS
PROPOSED HEATHER MOOR ESTATES, UNIT I
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Atwood:
This letter presents the results of percolation testing performed for the Heather Moor Estates Unit
No. 1 subdivision located between Eight Mile and Quashnick Roads, northeast of Stockton in
San Joaquin County,California. Reference is made to our septic system suitability study report
dated June 30, 1992, which was prepared for the subject subdivision.
Eight percolation tests were performed for our June 1992 report, three of which are located on
lots included in the Heather Moor Estates Unit No. 1 subdivision. This letter presents the results
of percolation tests performed on the four lots of Unit No. 1 where percolation tests were not
performed.
Percolation test holes were drilled and set up on July 20, 1993, using a truck-mounted drill rig
equipped with 6-inch diameter, continuous-flight augers. The test holes had a diameter of
approximately 6 inches and extended to depths varying from approximately 9 to 14 feet below
the existing ground surface. - The test holes were cased with slotted PVC pipe to avoid
disturbance to the soils when water was poured into the pipe.
The percolation tests were performed on July 21 and 22, 1993 by a representative of our firm.
The test holes were filled with approximately 3 feet of relatively clean water the day before the
tests were performed and left to soak overnight. Our representative returned to the site to
perform the percolation tests in accordance with guidelines outlined by San Joaquin County. The
last 30 minutes of each test were used to calculate the percolation rates and were observed by
a County sanitarian. The results of all the percolation tests performed for the Heather Moor Unit
No. 1 subdivision are presented on Table I, included with this letter. The County approved
percolation test sheets for the four tests performed at this time are also included with this letter.
Copyright 1993 Kteintelder, Inc.
KLEINFELDER 2825 East Myrtle Street, Stockton, U 95205 (2091 948-1345
