SAN JOAQUIN
COUNTY----
AM
OUNTY---
Greotness grows here.
March 2311, 2022
Mr. & Mrs. Rob & Jenny Erskine
30667 South KOSA(XRd.,
Tracy, Ca., 95304
RE: Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study
30667 South Koster Rd.,Tracy, Ca. 95304
APN 255-320-11, SR0084983
Environmental Health Department
Jasjit Kang, REHS, Director
Muniappa Naidu, REHS, Assistant Director
PROGRAM COORDINATORS
Robert McClellon, REHS
Jeff Carruesco, REHS, RDI
Willy Ng, REHS
Melissa Nissim, REHS
Steven Shih, REHS
Michelle Henry, REHS
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated March 9, 2022 for the above noted location, and has the following comments
for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) for a proposed Commercial Shop.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
a. According to the SSNL, the estimated nitrate loading from existing and proposed OWTS usage
was 8.10 mg/L-N as nitrate -nitrogen and the maximum contaminant level of 10 mg/L-N.
b. The Percolation test conducted on February 26th, 2022 yielded a percolation rate of 17.9
min/inch. At this rate, a minimum 8 feet of soil separation is required between bottom of the
dispersal field and the groundwater. The SSNL reports a historic groundwater level of 25 to 40
feet below surface grade. (San Joaquin County OWTS Standard Table 1.10.2).
c. The OWTS and its 100% replacement areas shall meet all required minimum setbacks stated in
San Joaquin County (OWTS) Standard and Well Standard.
If you have any questions please contact Aldara Salinas, Environmental Health Specialist, at
asalinas@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3019.
;teVnVih/,RtHaSZ_
Program Coordinator
c: Chesney Consulting
1868 E.
