Podesta Lane Permit#: WP0042167 Inspection Date: 3/3/22 <br /> The Environmental Health Department (EHD) recently conducted a water well pump inspection at the above <br /> address and found the following issues at the time of the inspection. In order to protect the ground water <br /> supply and your water source from potential degradation, please take the associated corrective actions. <br /> ❑ Lack of or Inadequate Concrete Platform around Wellhead. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.10.—Surface Seal) <br /> Corrective Action: Repair existing or install a new concrete platform around the wellhead that <br /> extends two feet in all directions from the well casing. <br /> ❑ Lack of or Inadequate Sanitary Seal at Wellhead. <br /> (SJC Ord. Code,Title 9, Section 9-1115.5.—Well Regulations) <br /> Corrective Action: Install a sanitary seal between casing and well cover plate/seal all gaps and <br /> openings. <br /> ❑ Lack of or Inadequate Sampling Tap. <br /> (SJC Water well Standards, Section 4.13.—Sampling Tap) <br /> Corrective Action: Install a non-threaded sampling tap between the wellhead and the check valve <br /> or within three (3) feet of the well head. <br /> ❑ Lack of or Inadequate Backflow Prevention. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.14.—Backflow Prevention) <br /> Corrective Action: Install an approved protective device to prevent backflow and/or back <br /> siphonage into a well. <br /> ❑ Sounding Tube or Air Vent not Sealed. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.13.—Sounding Tube/Air Vent Pipe) <br /> Corrective Action: Sounding Tube or Fill Pipe-Install a watertight, threaded cap at the upper end <br /> of the pipe. Air Vent-extend pipe 12 inches above with end inverted in a downward direction and <br /> covered with 16-mesh screening. <br /> ❑x Inactive well: A new well was installed under permit number WP0042167 due to the existing well (old <br /> well) going dry and is not capable of functioning. If the old well is not in use for one (1) year, it will be <br /> considered an "Abandoned Well" in which it will be required to obtain proper permits to be destroyed. (CA <br /> Health&Safety Code, Section 115700(a)(b)(d); CA Health&Safety Code, Section 115710;SJC Ord.
