The SSNL reports a nitrate-loading estimate for the existing and proposed OWTS of 13.25 mg/L of
NO3-N; the maximum contamination level for NO3-N in groundwater is 10.0 mg/L set by the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. An oversized septic tank is required for the proposed
OWTS to increase removal of Total-Nitrogen in the liquid waste (Onsite Nitrogen removal, Oakley,
page 12).
b. Percolation test conducted on March 10, 2022 yield percolation rate of 6.67 min/inch. At this rate an
8' soil separation is required between bottom of dispersal field and the groundwater. Groundwater is
reported at 40 ft. - 50 ft. below ground surface. (San Joaquin County OWTS Standard Table 1.10.2).
c. The well water from the existing water well shall be analyzed for the chemical DBCP
(Dibromochloropropane), Arsenic, and Nitrates (as Nitrogen). The water shall be analyzed by a state
certified lab. Results shall be submitted to EHD as they become available. (SJC OWTS Standard
3.7.2)
If you have any questions please contact Aaron Gooderham, Registered Environmental Health Specialist,
REHS, at agooderham@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3062.
i
f Steven Shih, REHS
Program Coordinator
CC: Baez Geotechnical Group
PO BOX 296
Oakdale, CA 95361
1868 E.
