WORK PLAN FOR INSTALLATION OF PIEZOMETERS Irerracon
Seefried Warehouses Tracy, California
November 12, 2019 Terracon Project No. NA185181
Installation of 3 piezometers at the locations detailed in Exhibit A-2.
2.1 Objectives
The objective of the proposed piezometer installation is to monitor groundwater at the site as it
relates to the development and geotechnical engineering aspects of the project.
2.2 Commitment to Safety
Terracon has a commitment to the safety of all its employees. As such, and in accordance with
our Incident and Injury I*ree@ safety culture, Terracon will develop a Project Safety Plan to be
used by our personnel during field services. Prior to commencement of on-site activities, Terracon
will hold a tailgate safety meeting to review site-specific job hazards and health and safety needs
for this specific project. In addition, prior to engaging in new on-site activities or tasks, we will re-
evaluate potential job hazards and appropriate safe working procedures as part of our Pre -Task
Planning process. At this time, we anticipate performing fieldwork in a Level D work uniform
consisting of hard hats, safety glasses, protective gloves, and steel -toed boots. It may become
necessary to upgrade this level of protection, at additional cost, while sampling activities are being
conducted in the event that petroleum or chemical constituents are encountered in soils or
groundwater that present an increased risk for personal exposure.
2.3 Work Plan
Terracon has provided this letter Work Plan to the SJCDEH detailing the methodologies described
below. Any SJCDEH comments to the letter Work Plan will be incorporated into a final plan.
2.4 Permitting
In conjunction with this Work Plan, Terracon has completed a SJCDEH Site Mitigation Well &
Boring Permit Application (see attached).
2.5 Utility Location and Geophysical Survey
Following SJCDEH approval of this Work Plan, and no later than 72 hours prior to intrusive
activities, Terracon will contact Underground Service Alert (USA) 811 North to arrange for
underground utility locates at the site.
To further evaluate the underground utilities at the site, a geophysical survey may be performed
in the vicinity of each of the proposed piezometer locations where mechanical drilling will be
performed. Terracon will utilize ground -penetrating radar (GPR) to detect concealed utilities at
Responsive Resourceful Reliable 2
