Material Storage:
Materials and characteristics: 191(g)(7)/192(k)(8)
Stored liquids in the waste oil storage tank are a mixture of various
viscosity used motor oils. All of these are classified as type IIIB
flammable and combustible liquids per Table B.l of NFPA Code 30A..
These liquids have the following HMIS Hazard Ratings:
Health: I (slight)
Flammability: 1 (slight)
Reactivity: 0 (minimal)
Used motor oil is compatible with the steel tank liner and does not pose
any potential for corrosive damage to the tank or ancillary equipment.
Specific Gravity: 0.91
Operating Capacity: 240 gallons
Chemical compatibility findings: The materials identified above are compatible for
contact with or proximity to the equipment, tank or tank system in this assessment.
Initials:
Visual Inspection: 191(g)(8)/192(k)(9)
Tank parameters at time of inspection:
24 gallons stored, 3 1/2" liquid level
Acute visual evidence of leaks: None
Condition of interior surface:
Good condition. No damage or evidence of corrosion.
Condition of exterior surface:
Fair condition. There are several minor exposed steel areas but they are
coated with a film of oil from the tank's previous life as a waste oil
storage tank and there is no evidence of corrosion.
Lodi Honda 9 'Title 2'2 Waste Oil Assessment
