HWY 120, Ripon <br />APN: 24506042, SR0085228 <br />Environmental Health Department <br />Jasjit Kang, REHS, director <br />Muniappa Naidu, REHS, Assistant Director <br />PROGRAM COOREINATORS <br />Robert McCIE#or, R -HS <br />Jeff Carruesco, ?EHS, RDI <br />Willy Ng, REHS <br />Steven Snih, R -HS <br />Michelle Heiry, R -SH <br />Elena Marzo, R=HS <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability'Nitrate <br />Loading Study Addendum (SSNL) dated May 2, 2022 for the above noted location and has the fcllow ng <br />comments for your consideration. <br />The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment <br />system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term nitrate loading impact to groundwater from the proposed <br />commercial OWTS. <br />Based on the information provided the EHD can make the following findings: <br />a. The SSNL does not support the suitability for standard OWTS usage due to a percolation rate of 250 <br />minutes per inch in the proposed liquid waste disposal area. The OWTS may be installed according <br />to the engineered/alternative OWTS plans and recommendations found it this study. Cbtain a <br />Commercial Alternative/Engineered Designed System Permit and install the OWTS based on the <br />designs and recommendations of the engineer. The OWTS must pass inspection before final approval <br />of the OWTS permit. <br />b. The maximum depth of the filter bed shall be forty-two (42) inches (SJC OWTS Standards 9.8 2). <br />c. The minimum depth of the filter material under the perforated pipe shall be twelve (12) inches (SJC <br />OWTS Standards 9.8.3). <br />d. There shall be a minimum of at least two (2) inches of filter material over the perforated pipe (SJC <br />OWTS Standards 9.8.4). <br />e.
