Dana Parry - 2 - .27 June 2019
residual waste pits buried at the Site. The residual waste primarily consists of broken glass
waste material with limited amount of plastic, metal, wood, trash, and minor amounts of
petroleum hydrocarbons, burn debris, and air pollution control system baghouse scrubber dust
manufacturing waste.
Planned Redevelopment
Significant environmental work has been conducted by AGE and Brusca Associates since 2014
including development of procedures for observation, monitoring, notification, and
documentation of site materials encountered during planned construction activities that could
disturb residual waste to identify and manage any potentially suspect wastes of concern
encountered during site redevelopment. The Site is currently largely vacant and undeveloped,
except for the northern portion with office buildings and warehouse space for Kraft Heinz
distribution center and Tesla vehicle storage. The rail spur is located along the southern portion
of the Site and then extends to the northeast corner of the Site. Proposed commercial/industrial
Site redevelopment plans include the following buildings:
• Expansion of the rail dock facility on the southeast corner of the main building and
relocation of rail spur
• A 731,000 +/- sf building in the eastern portion of the Site that is intended for use by
Kraft Heinz's expansion facility
• Two buildings of approximately 58,500 sf each on the northwestern portion of the Site,
and
• 87,500 sf building in the northeast corner of the Site
Previous Investigations
Previous environmental investigations and remediation have been conducted at the Site under
the oversight of San Joaquin Environmental Health Department (SJEHD), Cal Recycle, and the
Regional Water Board. Identified areas of known or suspected environmental impacts include:
• Waste Unit 1 (WU1)
• Waste Unit 1 Sliver (WU1 Sliver)
• North and South Waste Cells (NWC, SWC)
• Diesel Spill Area
• Stained Areas Observed in Utility Trench
• Cement/Glass Pad along Utility Trench
• Rail Spur Ramp
• Pile of Glass Material and Soil Slurry in Field
