2
<RMcClellon@sjcehd.com>; Linda Turkatte (lturkatte@sjcehd.com) <lturkatte@sjcehd.com>
Subject: RE: EMI Survey - San Joaquin COGEN

Hi Brian,

I met with Ann yesterday and discussed the proposed boring locations, she has some comments for you and will contact
you this afternoon.

I reviewed the two maps of the EMI survey, and find it interesting that although you have low confidence in the 2015
survey, it seems to show response near the two excavated waste cells but the current survey does not pick them up. I
agree It will be interesting to see what the borings find.

Just to give you a heads up, one of my concerns is that all the proposed monitoring wells are clustered south of the
Cogen plant, and there is no monitoring well planned for the north part of the site. I believe that most of the data from
the Pilkington site showed gradient was basically to the south. It will be important to get an upgradient well in
(assumed to be the north area of site) to document upgradient water quality and to give best coverage for
determining gradient.

Ann can discuss with you in more detail.

Thanks for sending over the EMI survey results. Very interesting. I look forward to seeing what is confirmed in the
borings.

Gerald Djuth, PE, CEG
Chief, Federal and Private Site Cleanup Unit
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
11020 Sun Center Dr., #200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
916-464-4677

From: Brian W.
