5.2 Description of soil profile pit including depth and dimensions. The Soil in this area is classified as San Joaquin Loam, thick surface 0-2 % slopes as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, as provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The San Joaquin Loam has a low permeability rate. 6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION 6.1 Site map showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation test holes on the parcel: See Appendix. 6.2 The minimum number of shallow and deep percolation tests were performed for each parcel: Two shallow percolation test hole and two deep percolation test were prepared on subject Parcel. Only one shallow and one deep test were evaluated by county staff. 6.3 Description of the date, time and protocol used to prepare the test hole, including depth and dimensions of hole, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak (minimum 12 inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 36 inches and backfilled with 2 inches of "pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards. The shallow hole was prepared by Neil O. Anderson Staff, on April 15, 2004 at 7:30 a.m. On April 19, 2004 at 7:30 a.m., the 24 hour presoak period was started. The hole was filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time. 6.4 Description of the date, time and condition of the test hole after the 24-hour soak period (hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak (minimum 12 inches): A percolation test was conducted for the borings on April 20th, 2004 in accordance with the requirements of the EHD. A percolation test with duration of 4 hours was performed. The last half hour of the 4 -hour percolation test was observed by Lisa Medina, Environmental Health Inspector, EHD. 6.5 The test conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02 (correct depth, diameter, 2" gravel, 6" water refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation tests conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02. Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed referenced point on the PVC casing using an electric well sounder with a depth capacity of 1/100th foot. All tabulated values on the field data sheet (appendix) are in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the holes were checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches) of water above the bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes for a period of 4 hours.
