US <br />Ecology was dispatched for inspection & remediation, along with notification to <br />Premium Env'l Services. <br />The release is approx. 20 drops per minute with a current release in the pit of 2 <br />gals. US Ecology's 1st responder reports pH as 13- Caustic which currently fits the <br />declared product- bleach. Root cause was a pallet was loaded into the side of an <br />IBC tote, cracking the liner releasing approx. 200 gals of the Sodium Hypochlorite <br />solution (Justeq07) during transit from Chicago to Stockton. The remaining quantity <br />(-100 gals) was transferred into drums for manifesting. <br />As such, this is a shipper responsibility & US Ecology will bill Greenwood Motor <br />Lines/R+L Carriers directly. <br />Ancillaries <br />In accordance with BNSF?s Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide, ancillary charges <br />may apply to this shipment. An invoice, if applicable, will be generated to the <br />shipper upon completion of the incident review. <br />Leaker Disclaimer <br />In addition, please be advised that some counties in the State of California will send <br />BNSF Railway an invoice for their activity/handling/response charges associated <br />with a leaking shipment. It is not uncommon for BNSF Railway to receive these <br />invoices several months after incident occurrence, which will be promptly <br />submitted to the appropriate shipper for payment. The shipper should contact the <br />issuing county if they have any questions regarding the invoice charges. <br />2
