In order to ensure that tap water is safe to drink, the USEPA and the State Water Resources Control Board (State Board) prescribe
regulations that limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems. State Board regulations also
establish limits for contaminants in bottled water that provide the same protection for public health.
Tables 1, 2, 3, and 4 list all of the drinking water contaminants that were detected during the most recent sampling for the
constituent. The presence of these contaminants in the water does not necessarily indicate that the water poses a health risk. The State
Board allows us to monitor for certain contaminants less than once per year because the concentrations of these contaminants do not
change frequently. Some of the data, though representative of the water quality, are more than one year old.
i TABLE 1— SAMPLING RESULTS SHOWING THE DETECTION OF COLIFORM BACTERIA
Microbiological
*Any violation ojan MCL or AL is asteriskeGl Additional information regarding the violati
Highest No.
No. of Months
!
Contaminants
of
in Violation
MCL
MCLG
Typical Source of Bacteria
Detections
Total Coliform Bacteria
(In a mo.)
0
More than I sample in !
0
Naturally present in the
-
0
a month with a
1
environment
z
(detection
Fecal Coliform or E. coli
(In frte year)
0
'A routine sample and a
0
Human and animal fecal waste
l
0'repeat
sample detect
i
jtotal coliform and
Ieither sample also
(detects fecal coliform
t
IorE. coli I
TABLE
2 — SAMPLING
RESULTS SHOWING THE DETECTION
OF LEAD
AND COPPER
i
No. of
900,
I No. Sites
I
E
Lead and Copper
Sample
Samples
Percentile
; Exceeding
AL iI
PUG
Typical Source of Contaminant
(and reporting units)
Date
Collected
Levet
i
AL
1
Detected
!
L
i Lead (ppb)
07/03!13
< 5
_
! 0
15
0.2
Internal corrosion ofhousehold
!
S
water plumbing systems;
!
j
)
discharges from industrial
1
manufacturers; erosion of natural
'
deposits
L--_
_
Copper (ppm)
07!03113
S
< 0.05
0
1.3
0.3
Internal corrosion of household
plumbing systems; erosion of
j
Inatural deposits; leaching from

!wood preservatives
on is provided later in this report.
