All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The free chlorine was 2.2 ppm. Maintain free chlorine between 3.0-10.0 ppm at spa. Keep spa closed <br />until correction is verified by EHD. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #37 Electrical Hazards MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The GFCI for the pool and spa lights was not working properly, the switch shut off right after it was reset. <br />Keep pool and spa closed until GFCI and electrical for the pool and spa lights are fixed and working properly or, the <br />electricity to the pool and spa lights can be disconnected by an electrician and the service report is submitted to EHD. <br />Call EHD for re-inspection prior to re-opening pool and spa. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Electrical equipment installed in the water, walls, deck, or equipment room of a public pool shall comply with <br />California Electrical Code. (CEC 680.4) Light fixtures installed in the pool that operate at more than 15 volts shall be protected by a ground <br />fault circuit interrupter. (CBC 3160B) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: Both life rings did not have rope available. Provide rope for both life rings, rope length must be maximum <br />width of pool and rope must be stored in a way that will prevent kinking or fouling. Correct today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #22 Skimmer Assembly <br />OBSERVATIONS: Spa skimmer did not have float assembly or o-ring. Provide float assembly and o-ring within 1 week. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shall be equipped to provide continuous skimming of the pool water. All parts of the skimmer shall be <br />maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
