A new levee system shall be <br /> constructed immediately adjacent to but structurally <br /> separate from any existing substandard levees. Both <br /> the existing substandard levees and the proposed levee <br /> shall be developed as regional public recreational <br /> parks and/or wildlife habitat areas subject to levee <br /> encroachment standards established by the agency <br /> responsible for the operation and maintenance of the <br /> new levee system. (See Figure 15. 10: Typical Flood <br /> Protection Levee Cross-Section and Chapter Seven: <br /> Recreation and Open Space). <br /> Tile new levee system shall extend from the San <br /> Joaquin/Alameda County line easterly approximately <br /> 15,000 feet to the W.I.D. intake canal. The new levee <br /> system shall extend southerly to an elevation contour <br /> sufficient to meet agency standards estimated at a <br /> contour elevation of 12 feet: (I)at the San <br /> Joaquin/Alameda County line,2)at the easterly and <br /> FLOOD westerly banks of the Mountain House Creek dredger <br /> 1422 15.8.I.c PROTECTION cut and 3)at the westerly bank of the W.I.D. intake can N/A Not applicable to Neighborhood F. None. <br /> Minimum Levee Design Criteria. The proposed new <br /> levee system shall meet,as a minimum,the <br /> requirements of Section 65.10 Mapping of Areas <br /> Protected By Levee Systems,44 CFR Ch. 1 and the <br /> FLOOD design standards specified herein.
