Box 2009 <br /> E Stockton, California 95201 <br /> i <br /> I� WORKPLAN TO CLOSE AN ABANDONED WELL <br /> i <br /> This workplan has been prepared to present the objective and <br /> scope of work to close an- abandoned domestic well at the proposed <br /> Louise Industrial Business Park in the City of Lathrop , <br /> California.;! The well has not been in service for at least one <br /> year due to the lack of inhabitancy of the subject property. <br /> Groundwater' underneath the subject property has been reported to <br /> have been degraded with various agricultural products ( i . e. <br /> { pesticides) '; from the adjacent Simplot property (formerly known as <br /> Occidental Chemical) . This workplan has been prepared in general <br /> accordance with rules and regulations promulgated in San Joaquin <br /> County -Ordinance No . 1862 regarding the construction , <br /> reconstruction, and destruction of water wells, <br /> k OBJECTIVE i <br /> F <br /> The objectives of the scope of work presented in this workplan <br /> I' are to provide a methodology for closure of a well within the <br /> F rules and regulations of San Joaquin County and in such a manner <br /> that protects the groundwater of the State of California. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> i� <br /> The scope of work developed to meet the objective includes the <br /> I following: ' <br /> o Sound the well to determine its apparent depth; <br /> o Utilizing hollow-stem auger, drill a hole around the casing <br /> of the well to a depth of three feet below the ground <br /> surface. The diameter of the hole shall exceed the diameter <br /> of the casing by at least one foot; <br /> u <br /> o Remove the upper casing to 0. 5 foot above the drilled hole; <br /> o Clean the interior of the casing in such a manner as to <br /> eliminate any obstructions that ' would limit the <br /> effectiveness of the seal ; <br /> Engineering Geology and Hazardous Materials Consultants <br /> .i <br /> I� <br /> r. <br /> I _ <br />
