Brusca File No. 137-002 Page 9 March 9, 2018 Murphy Parkway Property Excavation and Materials Management Plan In addition to the environmental protocol established herein, the stockpiled waste materials will be subject to review by the project Geotechnical Engineer to determine whether these materials are suitable for onsite reuse from a geotechnical standpoint. 6.7 Removal/Offsite Disposal of Any Unacceptable Materials Identified at the Property In the event that the laboratory testing and evaluation (as described in Section 6.6) demonstrate that removed/stockpiled waste materials contain chemicals of concern at levels that warrant removal from the property for offsite disposal to achieve clean closure of the property, written approval/acceptance of the materials from the receiving facility will be received prior to off -haul. Alternatively, at the discretion of the responsible party(s), it may be decided to leave any such materials onsite; in such a circumstance, "clean" closure of the property would not be viable and the responsible party(s) would submit a revised plan to the involved regulatory agencies for the management of any such materials. Any waste materials designated for off -haul will be loaded into transport vehicles in a manner that prevents the spilling or tracking of materials. Any such material that spills or falls onto the ground will be immediately placed into the truck or in its original container/stockpile, and the affected area will be immediately cleaned up. Transport and disposal will be performed by properly licensed contractors at an appropriate pre -approved facility in accordance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Transport manifests and disposal documentation will be maintained. 6.8 Personal Protection/Safety Procedures Based on site investigation and characterization data developed by AGE, the residual solid waste materials at the site are not known to present a significant chemical exposure threat to site workers involved with the excavation and materials management plan activities described herein. However, in general, basic personal protection and safety procedures should be implemented during the planned excavation and waste management activities. Such personal protection includes a hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, and boots. Additionally, rubber gloves should be worn by all workers contacting waste materials. Dust control measures will be implemented to limit or prevent airborne particles during activities that involve solid waste and soil disturbance. An effective dust control measure is the wetting of exposed materials to limit airborne soil particles. Wetting can be accomplished via liberal sprinkling of exposed materials with a hose, water truck, or other suitable means. The actual methods used for dust control will depend on the nature of the soil disturbance activity, the size of the area disturbed, soil moisture content, and weather conditions. As a general rule, measures will be implemented so that no visible dust is generated during site activities. It is emphasized that this EMMP does not address physical hazards (such as those posed by the known waste glass materials on the property); protection against physical and construction hazards are the responsibility of future contractors/workers and other site personnel and are not included in the scope of this plan.
