March 11,2005 <br /> NOA Project Number: E040150A <br /> 6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION <br /> 6.1 Percolation Test Locations <br /> Y1 site map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is included as Plate 1 of this report. �. <br /> 6.2 Number of Percolation Tests <br /> One shallow percolation test were conducted on each proposed parcel of the Site, for a total of five 60 v� <br /> shallow percolation tests. <br /> 6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation <br /> The soil borings on Parcels 1,2, 3 and 5 were advanced on the Site with a hand auger February 8, <br /> 2005. The soil borings on Parcel 4 was advanced on the site with a hand auger on March 3, 1005. <br /> A 1.5-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of <br /> water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of"pea gravel" were placed in the <br /> bottom of the open soil boring,then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. Several feet <br /> of"pea gravel" were backfilled in the annular space. <br /> Presaturation of the percolation test hole on Parcel 2 occurred on February 14,2005,the l/=SbA'► <br /> presaturation of the percolation test hole on Parcels 3 occurred on February 16,2005,the rLloioen <br /> presaturation of the percolation test hole on Parcel 1 occurred on February 22,2005, the i!:yam <br /> presaturation of the percolation test hole on Parcel 5 occurred on February 23,2005 and the 9=��+^^ <br /> presaturation of the percolation test hole on Parcel 4 occurred on March 6,2005. The depth ofj/-�a/yn <br /> water used for presaturation was 12 inches above the bottom of the boring. <br /> 6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturation <br /> After the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated holes were found to be intact on the day of testing. <br /> The holes on Parcels 1, 3,4 and 5 were dry on the day of testing.The hole on Parcel 2 had water in <br /> the bottom on the day of testing. <br /> 6.5 Percolation Test Procedure <br /> A percolation test was conducted for Parcel 2 on February 15,2005 in accordance with the <br /> requirements of the EHD. A percolati est with a duration of onhour w ed for e� <br /> hole. The entirety of the percolation test was observed by Mr. Ray Borges,Registered <br /> Environmental Health Inspector,EHD. The percolation test was conducted for Parcel 3 on <br /> February 17,2005,in accordance with the requirements of the EHD. A percolation test with a <br /> duration of four hours was performed for each hole. The final half-hour of the four-hour <br /> percolation tests were observed by Ms.Lisa Medina,Registered Environmental Health Inspector, <br /> 8 0,44 <br />
