Is there
adcyuate land available fnr the was
treatment plant? Is there additional land available
for final disposal of treated effluent? The California Regional Water Quality Control Board
will need to provide written approval fnr the wastewater treatment plant and its required
expansion prior to approval of R.lR to RJV L zoning change.
B. Environmental Health Division has been made aware that through a nitrate loading study that
groundwater has been impacted with nitrates, and chloroform above the State's drinking
water standards.
Environmental Health Division is concerned about over-drafting the water basin in this area,
especially for the parcels currently being served by private wells. In addition, EHD has a
responsibility per San Joaquin County Ordinance Code to protect groundwater for the public
health. Based on a groundwater study, EfID would mandate that a determination be made to
provide adequate quality and quantities of potable water to nearby parcels containing out-of -
compliance, small public water systems and private wells within this studied area.
Environmental Health Division will request a hydrotogical-overdraft study that could
/P
demonstrate that the added uses and users in this area would not further degrade water quality
and provide adequate quantities in cases of drought and overall use.
A Division of San Joaquin County}leallh Care Services
