NFORv1ATION SHEET
ORDER NO. 5-00-226
COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 44
CASTELLO ESTATES AKA APRICOT ACRES
SAN JOAQUN COUNTY
The County of San Joaquin Department of Public Works (SJDPW)will own and operate a
domestic wastewater treatment system to be constructed at Castello Estates aka Apricot Acres.
The site is located in San Joaquin County approximately three miles south of Tracy. The
SJDPW refers to the area served as County Service Area No. 44. The wastewater treatment plant
will be constructed as part of a residential development in the area.
The wastewater plant consists of a 30,000 gallon per day complete mix, nitrification/
denitification, modified batch process. Disinfection will be accomplished using ozone injection.
Treated wastewater will be discharged to computer controlled subsurface emitters. The package
plant units consist of a 20 feet deep influent pump station (wet well), three 4,000-0,allon
equalization tanks, an aeration chamber, a clarifier chamber (which will return activated sludge
to the aeration chamber), an ozone disinfection chamber, two sand filters (which will backflush
to the equalization system), and the subsurface emitters. Waste sludge will be aerobically
digested in two above ground aerated tanks. Groundwater exists at approximately 65 feet bgs.
This Order requires the Discharger to perform monitoring of the effluent and groundwater.
1 Ro 10/27/00
