All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The chlorine level of the spa is 0.4ppm. Immediately provide chlorine level of 3.0-10.0ppm or face <br />possible closure. <br />Pool service person added a few ounces of chlorine: Re-check Cl level: 17.5ppm (too high) <br />Pool service person added some neutralizer: Re-check Cl level: 9.4ppm <br />Corrected on site. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pH level of the spa water is <7.0. Maintain the spa pH between 7.2 to 7.8. <br />The pH level was re-checked at the end of the inspection: 7.2 <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa light is burned out. Repair/replace the spa light by 2 weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br />pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br />not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall <br />secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark.
