SSS§ 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 After drilling the shallow perc test borings, the sidewalls were scored with a
pry -bar to open potentially smeared soil surfaces and the cuttings removed. The deeper test
borings could not be scored due to the corresponding depths involved. The deep exploratory
borings were converted to perc test borings.
SSS§ 6.3, 6.4, 6.5. Two inches of pea gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated
PVC pipe was inserted in each boring to prevent cave-ins. The test borings for Parcels 1 and 4
were presaturated, 24 hrs before testing. On May 20, 2022, 0630 hrs, percolation testing
commenced for Parcel 1 and Parcel 4. On May 22, Parcels 2 and 3 were presaturated 24 hrs
before testing, which commenced on May 23, 2022. All testing was conducted under EHD Perc
Test Procedure #2, over a four-hour period to induce maximum soil saturation.
The percolation test results exhibited varying permeabilities, at varying depths in the test
locations. Percolation tests for each Parcel, along with related data, are summarized below in
Table 2, with the Field Percolation Test Rate Forms found in Appendix D:
TABLE 2
f
PERCO TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL
NUMBER AND
POTENTIAL SEPTIC
SYSTEM STRUCTURE
PROPOSED
ACREAGE
PERC TEST DEPTHS:
SHALLOW
DEEP
PERC TEST
RESULTS
APPLICATION
RATE IN
GALS/SF/DAY
Parcel 1
Leachlines and
Seepage Pits
2.24 Acres Net
36 INCHES
150.0 mpi - FAIL
0.100 gals/sf/day
144 INCHES (12 FT)
50.0 mpi - FAIL
0.311 gals/sf/day
276 INCHES (23 FT)
12.5 mpi - PASS
0.757 gals/sf/day
Parcel 2
Leachlines and
Seepage Pits
2.23 Acres Net
36 INCHES
125.0 mpi - FAIL
0.100 gals/sf/day
141 INCHES (11.75 FT)
125.0 mpi - FAIL
0.100 gals/sf/day
271 INCHES (22.5 FT)
13.9 mpi - PASS
0.743 gals/sf/day
Parcel 3
Leachlines and
Seepage Pits
3.24 Acres Net
42 INCHES
31.3 mpi - PASS
0.522 gals/sf/day
113 INCHES (9.5 FT)
0 mpi - FAIL
0.0 gals/sf/day
284 INCHES (24 FT)
12.5 mpi - PASS
0.757 gals/sf/day
Parcel 4
Leachlines and
Seepage Pits
2.01 Acres Net
36 INCHES
50.0 mpi - PASS
0.311 gals/sf/day
143 INCHES (11.9 FT)
31.3 mpi - FAIL
0.522 gals/sf/day
276 INCHES (8.6 FT)
8.6 mpi - PASS
0.800 gals/sf/day
Chesney Consulting
