Executive Summary
This report presents the results of an independent evaluation of the Pneumercator LLP-
203 Series Pipeline Line Leak Detector for hourly testing on flexible , rigid and
combination pipelines when used in combination with a Pneumercator TMS2000 ,
TMS3000 and TMS4000 series console . The test procedures used were those
described in the US EPA protocol " Standard Test Procedures For Evaluating Release
Detection Methods : Pipeline Release Detection " , May 2019 .
The performance capabilities of the Pneumercator LLP -203 Series Pipeline Line Leak
Detector ( PLLD) were determined for Hourly Testing . The Pneumercator LLP-203
Series PLLD met the US EPA performance standards for hourly pipeline leak detection
systems which require a probability of detecting a leak of stated size be 95 % or greater
with a probability of false alarm (declaring a tight line to be leaking ) of no more than 5 %
when used in combination with a Pneumercator TMS2000 , TMS3000 or TMS4000
series console .
The Pneumercator LLP -203 Series PLLD was tested on a pipeline consisting of rigid ,
semi- rigid and flexible pipe . The total line volume for hourly testing was 589 . 34 gallons
of diesel fuel with a bulk modulus of 17 , 052 psi .
The formal results of the evaluation are reported on the Official EPA forms in
Attachment A , B and C of this report .
1
