3 . 0 Description of the Test Equipment <br /> The Pneumercator LLP -203 Series PLLD is an electronic line leak detector. The <br /> Pneumercator LLP -203 Series PLLD monitors the pressure of the pipeline . If the <br /> pressure drops quickly enough below the threshold of the Hourly Test , a leak is <br /> declared and an alarm is generated . <br /> 4 . 0 Description of the Testing Location <br /> The Pneumercator LLP -203 Series PLLD was evaluated at the Fuels Management <br /> Research Center located in Grain Valley , Missouri , which is operated by Ken Wilcox <br /> Associates , Inc . Line tests described in this report were conducted on the combination <br /> of pipeline detailed in Table 1 . Table 1 shows the pipeline configuration and product <br /> used , along with the volumes of the line combination . The bulk modulus , which is a <br /> measure of the " stretch " which occurs when the line is pressurized , is shown in <br /> Attachment 3 . Details of the piping configuration used in the evaluation are included in <br /> table 1 . <br /> The conditioned product is contained in a 600 gallon steel tank , which is equipped with <br /> a standard Red Jacket submersible pump . Product is heated or cooled in the tank by <br /> circulating glycol and product through an external heat exchanger . Soil temperatures <br /> were monitored using RTDs , . which were located at 2 inches , 4 inches and 12 inches <br /> from the line as specified by the EPA protocol . A single temperature probe was located <br /> 4 inches from the bottom of the product conditioning tank . The weighted soil <br /> temperature and the product tank temperature at the beginning of the test were used to <br /> compute the temperature differential . <br /> Table 1 .
