All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: A 12-foot fixed length rescue pole with permanently attached hook was not available. Provide prior to <br />resuming pool operations and correction has been verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine was valued at 0 PPM. Adjust to 2 PPM to 10 PPM. Keep pool closed until the corrections <br />are made and verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pH was valued at 8.0. Adjust to 7.2 to 7.8 pH. Keep pool closed until the corrections are made and <br />verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #29 Recirculation System Operation MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The storage room containing the recirculation system was locked and inaccessible. Observed the <br />system to be operating loudly. Keep pool closed until re-inspection has been done and the system is verified by this <br />department to be in good working order. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Recirculation system shall be in operation whenever the pool is available for use and additional times as <br />needed to maintain clear pool water.
