All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: The spa free chlorine was 13.4 ppm. Water was added to spa and the chlorine was 11.8 ppm. Maintain free chlorine between 3-10 ppm when operating. Keep spa closed until chlorine correction is verified by EHD. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #12 pH Level MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: The spa pH was greater than 8. Maintain pH level between 7.2-7.8 when operating. Keep spa closed until pH correction is verified by EHD. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) #15 Operation Records OBSERVATIONS: The spa operation records were lacking free chlorine testing. Test free chlorine at spa daily when operating. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall test the disinfectant residual, pH, and spa water temperature a minimum of once per day. Cyanuric acid concentration shall be tested once per month if cyanuric acid is used. Combined chlorine shall be tested as often as necessary to maintain the concentration below 0.4 ppm. Pool operator shall maintain written records of all maintenance and test results for at least two years and shall submit those records to the enforcement agency upon request. (CCR 65523) #22 Skimmer Assembly OBSERVATIONS: The skimmer was lacking an o-ring. Provide within 1 week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shall be equipped to provide continuous skimming of the pool water. All parts of the skimmer shall be maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
